Green Autumn Daffodils

The green daffodils are later this year than usual. No doubt the delay is due to warm autumn and late start to the rains. At least we had over two inches of rain last week and everything is starting to pop now.

Below is a first bloom seedling from Emerald Sea x Lima’s Green Success. It has quite large flat flowers. This is the first to flower of a cross made originally in 2009. There are at least 20 seedlings showing buds at this point.

Perhaps the deepest green is this seedling with rather scruffy flowers, bred from two of Lima Manuel’s greens. Selected forms should be open next week.

Lima’s Green Joy is an 8G-G which I think is the best of his green tazettas. This is not as full as Lima’s Green Goddess but I think it is more elegant. This is a fertile cultivar but I have not bred anything worthwhile from it yet.

Not really a green this is from Gloriosus x N. viridiflorus. It has been flowering for about 6-7 years now but I still only have a single bulb. I guess this is going nowhere.
