Miniatures and intermediates flowering in Canberra

Keira Bulbs has quite a few nice miniatures and a small number of intermediates flowering at the moment. They would be described as very very early flowering. We have had one of our coldest winters in years but it has had virtually no effect on these early flowering bulbs. In fact they seem to be out earlier than normal. Some of them are very good seedlings. There are at least 3 that would, early in their lives, be described as 1Y-P’s. Plenty of hybridising opportunities among this lot. We have 3 of Glenbrook Bulb Farm’s Cedric seedlings and Clones 1 and 2 have very good petal coverage so they are being used to improve the petal coverage of our miniatures. We have made leaps and bounds with our miniature petal coverage already but the Cedric seedlings will give it a boost.
