Daffodil Gardening

As a master gardener I know that we should have our soil tested before we plant.  However I had a lot of top soil brought in last year and didn’t test it.  It turned out to be loaded with nematodes.  Lesson learned.  In an area like this that has more than it’s share of nematodes, even “New” topsoil can be loaded.  Better safe than sorry.  Had to treat the soil.  Glad I didn’t use it for my daffodils.

Subject change: I have written several articles about the advantages of preparing your daffodil beds two or three months before you plan on using them so they will have time to settle down.  On the fun side :-) that allows the winter weeds to get a good start and now that I’m out planting my fall daffodils, I’m also fighting the weeds that loves my new daffodil beds.  No good deed goes unpunished.
