The Taranaki Daffodil Club and the Central Daffodil Group held a combined late show on Saturday 3 October , in the Normanby Hall . This is home territory for Spud and Joy Brogden and along with a very friendly and obliging team , they welcomed a good number of growers from our wide area .The late season ensured that a lot of good quality blooms were still available and the top table was of an excellent standard .Notable was the good standard of blooms staged in the Beginners and Amateur classes ; the Taranaki Club in particular is doing an excellent job encouraging newer members . Almost half the 30 Premiers were seedlings or registered flowers from the exhibitors . Brian MacKenzie was short of flowers but sorted and staged a large box of blooms for John Hollever , including the Champion Bloom .I was having a bad camera day but captured about 20 of the top flowers .Apologies to exhibitors involved .
