Three weeks ago I saw that some new seedlings of jonquilla hybrids x viridiflorus hybrids growing outdoors had flower buds. Up to this time we had no frost, but soon it would freeze and snow and perhaps the flowers would be damaged. Therefore I planted the seedlings into pots and brought them indoors. They all flower in winter and have a nice and strong fragrance from their parents. The plants stand the frost well and the pollen fertility is about 30 %. I shall try the pollen this year on standard daffodils. Perhaps I can generate early in spring flowering varieties with good fragrance. To combine jonquilla hybrids like Limequilla with standard daffodils as seed parents is difficult for me. This combination with viridiflorus hybrids like Emerald Sea is easy. Perhaps the seedlings also do well as pollen parents with standard daffodils.

Very nice, Theo. Lots of variety. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for posting Theo, seeing these nice vir. hybrids help warm up the cold January day. I can almost detect that nice fragrance through the computer screen. Good luck with your future crosses.
