The Central Daffodil Group held our late show in Feilding, central Manawatu , on Saturday 1 October .The week previous had been settled , with light rain , warmer temps and only light winds . The flowers were making a final rush in a late season and we had a host of big , quality flowers and growers from across our wide area . Just under 400 vases were benched , approximately 600 stems from 11 exhibitors . We were pleased to welcome John and Marie Hunter , over from Nelson on a daffodil and grandparent mission ; also always welcome , Joy and Spud Brogden from our Taranaki wing .Judging was by rotating panels and went well and at a good pace . As it is our last show we have chosen to select a big range of premiers as all divisions are usually available at this time and shows the visitors the big range of daffs available . 28 blooms made a full top table and the Champion Bloom , by unanimous panel vote , was a superb flower, raised and exhibited by Wayne Hughes .
