Some miniature 2yr old seedling bulbs from inter-species crosses. Each
tells a story about depth of planting, the elongated ones have really been
trying to achieve a depth to which one or both parents are accustomed in the
wild.

Why is it that N. cyclamineus x N. rupicola produced “lovely little flowers” while the other crosses such N. jacetanus x N. scaberulusas which are just as elongated were too shallow?
The lovely little flowers were from the same cross made several years ago. The pictures represent 2 yr old seedlings that have not flowered yet.
