Thanks to those who post photos of show winners on Daffnet. These are not simple click and post photos. Having spent yesterday afternoon being “photographer’s gofer” for Tom Stettner, I realize even more how much is involved. He takes several photos of each exhibit to make sure he gets the color as accurate as possible. He even grooms the flowers to insure the flowers are at their best. He travels with lights that mimic daylight. (I’m sure there’s a Kelvin temperature, but I don’t know it.) So thanks to Tom, Kirby, Becky, Clay and Janet (for posting Robbie Caponetto’s photos), and others who give us visuals of the show winners.
Yes, MANY THANKS to all our photographers….The photos have been excellent…and much enjoyed!

Yes you are right. I want to ask you a link to the pictures of which you
are writing.
Because I’ve seen some that you can say about: experimental photos on the
verge
“en сontre”.

Hi, Ian Tyler,
About what exactly do you write – about more or less good or about “en

Hello just directing you to more wonderfull photos of daffodils!
Thats all
Ian
Hi Oleg,
I’m talking about the photos that Kirby Fong and Tom Stettner (and others) have posted to Daffnet. See Kirby’s photos ffom the Fortuna, Sacramento, and other California shows; and Tom Stettner’s photos from the Kentucky, South Western Ohio Daffodil Society, and Indiana Daffodil Society Shows (coming soon). Others have also posted photos from shows You can find them on Daffnet, and also on http://www.dafflibrary.org under ADS Pubs, Show Results. They give a visual presentation of what has won at the various daffodil shows.
Hi Mary,
Thank you,
But I do not understand what kind of daffodils is depicted in
daffnet.org/the-garden-club-of-virginia-show/
This is the last
photo of “Altun Ha”. This is Altun Ha 2 YYW-W (John Pearson 1987)
or Altun Ha *Gold * 2 Y-Y (John Pearson 2008) ?

Hi Oleg,
I think it’s ‘Altun Ha’, but with the light coming from behind the flower, it’s hard to tell for sure.
Mary Lou
Hi Mary,
That’s why I wrote
about the pictures “en сontre”.
Perhaps this is good in art, but is it acceptable in documenting
exhibitions and showing varieties?
What is your opinion?
2017-04-23 16:37 GMT+03:00 daffnet <>:
Hi Oleg,
For identifying the flowers, I prefer the ones that show the flower as it is in reality. Others have different opinions. For those that are shown with other effects, we can always go to DaffSeek, http://www.daffseek.org, to look up the flower.
Mary Lou
Hi Mary Lou,
OK. Thank you, that’s exactly what I’m doing..
Oleg.

A very big thanks to all who have been posting photos of daffs , and equally important , daff personalities .They are very much appreciated and we appreciate your commitment at a busy time of the season .
Special thanks to Tom and Kirby ; such a lot of work involved , particularly ensuring that the flower and exhibitor names are correct .” Playing ” with the photos on the computer , with a little cropping and enhancement is always a pleasure ; sorting the labels and captions can at times be slow and testing work .You have done it exceptionally well , particularly the BIG collection classes .
Thanks to you all .
