I went to the garden today and found a lot blooming. However, I found myself interested more in two of my hybrids than all the already named daffodils.
The first on is a little cross between Glenbrook Minicycla and N. cyclamineus:
The second cross was Goldhanger x Goldfinger. It’s hard to see in the picture but I have designated the color code to be 2Y-YOO;
Very smooth. Good show quality. just a little early here in Zone 8A

BEAUTIFUL!
Yes, half my daffs are in bloom!
Doesn’t bode well for GA show!

Very nice, Clay!
Hi Jackie,
I have a whole clump of those little 6Y-Y but when I started to take a picture of the little guys I realized I’d have to get down on the ground at their level, 5 or 6 inches. And if I did, I would not be able to get back up without help. So I picked one photograph, and a couple others for hybridization.

Hi Mary Lou,
Thanks. I have a lot more yet to bloom. At the moment, it’s mostly the yellows that are blooming. I think I’m at the point where I have more hybridized daffodils than named one.

Clay,
Ngaire Rogers should be about to bloom for you. I would love to read your honest reaction. I think it will convert you.

Hi Clay,
I use my yoga mat and my very little tripod for those little darlings!
Jackie
David,
I went out and checked on the Ngaire Rogers you sent me. The foliage is about 2 inches above the ground. It will be a couple of weeks before it is ready. Since I have to turn around the bulbs from down where you are, it may be another year before I get an exciting bloom. Usually takes about two year to turn around. I did get it to come up last summer but no bloom, so this years that may be a “squeezed” bloom. Next year, good chance.
Thanks for sending it.
