ADS Server Downtime

The data-center company that hosts the ADS server indicates they will replace a network switch March 17 between midnight to 6AM Pacific Standard time. PST is -8 GMT and this will occur about 5 hours after this post.

They stated that our Internet connection will likely be down during that time frame. I would expect they will do the work faster than the midnight to 6AM time frame and I would not be surprised if our sites are up and down several times during the work and their testing.

Worst case is it could take them longer than expected. We will be monitoring the ADS equipment.

Is this why I couldn’t post anything to daffnet just now?

No, we were working on a number of server issues on March 18th which required us to restart the web server several times.

Web servers are “connection less” so it is normally not a problem restarting the web server because few people would see anything unusual.

But people actually posting at the exact time might be stopped.  It’s a long shot, but I suspect you  found it.

I am sorry for the inconvenience.
