Yesterday was the start of a winter storm just off the east coast of the U.S. It’s traveling north up the east coast. It’ s what we call a Northeast “ter”. The storm circulates counter clockwise, which means that we got a “mean” northeast wind coming down from the Canadian region.
40-45 miles per hour sustained winds with gusts up to 66 miles per hour. It was a dry storm, but caused a lot of flooding because the wind pushed the water out of the bays, etc. The news last night showed sailing vessels on the ground with no water under them.
My daffodils, many of them in early bloom, are now lying on the ground. It looks like total devastation out there in the Garden, but I know from experience that I will lose some flowers for some shows but I will still be able to get to some shows with good flowers.
First show in Atlanta, Georgia one week from today. If we don’t have any more storms, I should have something to bring to Georgia.

After three whole days that winter storm is still raging. The wind is a little more calm this morning, but what is left of my daffodils are still dancing in the wind. The early spring on my part of the east coast was not a good thing this year.
