On returning from Minneapolis on Sunday I did a walk around to see what might have been. My large patch of Killearnan was in bud, having braved the snow (twice) and heavy rains of the week. The top three blooms were the “worst” of 13 I picked on Tuesday morning. The lower right one was picked yesterday a little early and mostly showed the yellow blush of early Killearnan. Now all are almost perfect and there are 10 more on the way. I wish I could share them in person.

BTW, if you want to illustrate “mucronate”, this is the one.
