Inspired by the insect Xylocopa violacea, I have had the idea of makeing a little window in the perianth tube to access the stigma without touching the anthers or cuttig the flower in half. This could be interesting in this kind of narcissus that have the style very deep, probably well know technique… I am new in breeding :)
Yes you can do that, but why not just cut the tube above the level of the stigma. I usually just tear the flower open.

Thank you Harold, I have several N. papyraceus blooming now, so I will try this. I think I will cross them with Jonquillae species, as there are in the wild N. x koshinomurae nothosubsp. sanchezii, N. x weickertii, N. x repulloi… Maybe I can reproduce them in culture
