New ADS Educational Banners

The ADS has completed a revision of its educational banners. They were displayed at the national daffodil show in Dallas, Texas last weekend. If you were there, you saw how much of an improvement they are over the old version. If you weren’t there, here are low resolution images of what they look like.

They come in sturdy stands.  The banners vary in width between 31 and 48 inches. The height is 92 inches (8 inches taller than the older set of banners). Colors are brighter, and images are higher resolution. If you’re interested in buying a set, there’s a PDF file on the ADS web site at  https://daffodilusa.org/resources/educational-daffodil-displays/
that tell you how to order them directly from the manufacturer in Utah. The cost including shipping will be about $1300. We could have chosen a less expensive manufacturer but decided to go with a high quality product that would last for years. If you can’t afford the whole set at once, you can buy them one at a time as your budget permits.

If you can’t afford the new banners right now, there are options for printing them as posters. On the web page cited above you’ll also find a PDF file with the four banner images on separate pages. They’re of sufficient resolution to print on 11″ x 17″ paper. In addition, there are JPEG files that are meant for printing on 20″ x 30″ paper. Not to mention the name of a big box store, but there is one where you can upload these JPEG files and print them on 20″ x 30″ paper for about ten dollars each.

The ADS currently has no plan to purchase a set of educational banners for each region as it did for the original set. There’s no reason why you can’t continue using the old regional set if it’s serviceable. But if your local daffodil group would like a set of its own, the revised set is the only choice since the manufacturer of the old set has gone out of business.

  1. It is very unfortunate that in the first two banners that the “D” in
daffodils is lowercase. This word is the reason for our being! Come ON!!
