    I’m glad you enjoyed it. More will follow, but it takes some time.

    The time to open is a difficult question, and everyone wants to know. This varies by temperature, humidity, and light.

     

    These flowers opened in a studio at 72°F after 14 weeks of forcing in an unheated garage. I water them to get started.

     

    They “open” relatively quickly, but keep developing for an extended period. Six flowers had the following durations (in hours):

     

    8

    14.5

    21

    26.5

    37.5

    55

     

    That’s quite a range, and would vary considerably in the garden. But in a practical sense, one warm sunny day is enough.
