An interesting seedling

At Dawning X Magic Lantern  This flower I would code as 1 Y/W-Y it has a white stripe along the center of each petal  This photo was taken with the sun to the back of the flower.  Its siblings are coded 1W-Y, 1W-O and 1W-P  this one has the narrowest trumpet of the batch.  I will be putting pollen of this one on my ‘Snouter’ 1W-P and 1W-O breeders.   This one just glows in the garden.

    I really like your choice of parents to cross. The seedlings are very promising for an early 1W-P or 1Y/W-P.

     

  2. Seedlings like this that show up is one of the things that make hybridizing so much fun and exciting. One never knows for sure how the genes will line up. Some times we get some exciting surprises! Thanks for posting this beautiful seedling, Michael. I have had a couple of surprises myself in the last couple of years.
