Is this a named cultivar?

About 10 years ago a friend gave me a 2 Y-Y Postles seedling she said Clay Higgins gave her. I asked Clay if it had a number, he said “289.” It is a wonderful multiplier and has good form. Someone commented that it might be a named cultivar now. I checked Daffseek and found that Postles had registered ‘Online,’ a 2 Y-Y, in 2005. It had been seedling 2-8-89. Could they be the same?!

  1. Hi Nancy,

I would be careful with that one. The 2-8-89 I have seen in shows in the mid-Atlantic region was a Div 1. I may have gotten the wrong number but the one I have was clearly a Div 2 even when they looked similar. I have had that one since 2000 according to the records that I maintain of my planting of daffodils each year. If Postles registered the daffodil as a Div 2 he agreed with me, in my garden it was never a div 1.

Send this picture to Richard Ezell, he’s the one that gave me the Postles seedling. He may know. Also be advised that Richard and Rebecca are using a different email now. If you don’t have it, contact me direct and I will give it to you.

    Clay
