  1. That’s a real stunner – such a lovely sharply defined red line. Congratulations Petra.

  2. Carlos – thank you again for posting these pictures. Indeed you are growing the daffodils to their optimum in Burgerbrug! With me the rimmed varieties are getting paler during the last years!

“Royal Princess” as an example no longer shows it`s bright orange line with me – it usually comes as a 3 W-WWY here!
Another seedling of mine which was a 3 W-WWO with a broad band of brightest orange in previous years this season came as a 3W-W with only a hint of yellow at opening which faded quickly.
Have others observed this phenomen, too???

Brian – thank you for your kind words, but but it is the great breeders of the past and present that allow us stupid amateurs to discover something special in our seedling beds from time to time. And mother nature or whatever we want to call it, that makes these miracles possible.
For me, the breeding of daffodils is a kind of miracle, often leading to something unawaited which every now and then is more beautiful than my simple brain was able to imagine, I must confess.
The seedling pictured came from “Elizabeth Ann x Fairy Magic” so it is not just a creation of my doing.
