Daffodil Season

Before the season began I promised to show pictures of daffodils. I did not.  I just lacked the incentive to go out into the daffodil field and pick daffodils in the cold rain and blowing wind that occurred during the month of April.  We didn’t have much of a winter in Jan, Feb and Mar here in Monmouth County of New Jersey.  However, we did have February in April.  I still have good daffodils in the garden now that the weather has calmed down.  If the shows were not canceled, yes, I would have been right out there in the bad weather  picking daffodils for the show.

This is Roulettte 2W-GYY.  It was between beautiful Manley 4Y-O and Gay Tabor 4W-O.  Both worthy of entry into a show. But as usually the worst photographer in ADS, me, blew the pictures.

  1. Can’t believe you have daffs in May!
I lived in Rumson, north of you, but never remember daffs in May!
Sounds like you are doing well in your new fields.

  2. Well, like I said, we had February weather in April.  The cold, rain and wind kept the daffodils from blooming early.  I’m not sure that this is normal.  But after nearly 25 years showing and growing daffodils in all type weather, lets call it daffodil weather. :-)

It’s as good as it gets.
