Robert (Bob) Faulkner

Robert Faulkner of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on December 26, 2020, after a month-long battle with COVID-19.  With many years of experience in the professional landscaping business, Bob was a true plantsman and plant collector, with a deep appreciation of all nature.  His three-acre Little York Farm showcased many unique specimens of trees and plants, providing habitat for diverse wildlife.  In the spring, his daffodil display was breathtaking, with the bulbs he had purchased from South Western Ohio Daffodil Society over the years.  Every summer, his farm was a favorite stop on the Northern Mecca, the premiere gathering of Midwest hybridizers of cutting-edge northern-hardy daylilies.  Bob himself was an extraordinary hybridizer, specializing in patterned daylilies with exquisite color combinations, which he offered through his business Natural Selection Daylilies.  Gifted with a quirky but kindly sense of humor, Bob was much sought-after as speaker for garden meetings around the country.  Bob Faulkner was guest speaker at the 2018 ADS Fall Forum and Board Meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Condolences may be sent to this address:  Bob Faulkner, c/o Ray Rayburn, 10549 H B Hole Rd, Versailles, OH  45380.  A memorial service will be scheduled later in 2021, when safe to gather.

Many of you will remember Bob from his presentation at the 2018 Fall Forum in Cincinnati.
