RE : 2020 / 2021 WORLD DAFFODIL CONVENTION
GOLD CREEK, CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA
At this stage, international travel into and out of Australia is effectively unavailable to
international visitors and this policy is unlikely change until at least September when the
postponed convention had been planned. In this situation it would be impossible to sensibly
plan for a world convention as we have come to think of them. The one positive seems to be
that the border with New Zealand has reopened both ways and domestic borders are now open
and seem likely to stay that way.
Rather than hold a convention as planned, we now propose to hold an international daffodil
show and get together for those who can make it to Canberra with the show starting on Friday
17 September 2021. It would be fantastic if growers from other Australian states and from New
Zealand can join us then. And, of course, if it is possible for those from other countries to join
us then that would be even better.
The show and schedule are confirmed and the venue is the same as was previously planned –
The Abbey at Gold Creek. Accommodation options remain unchanged. Depending on who is
able to join us and how many people, we will arrange events around the show including
dinner(s) etc. Registration details will be forwarded when available so you can indicate your
intention to attend.
It would be fantastic to see as many people as possible.
