At our Central Daffodil Group early show we had a special presentation , – the first Life Membership we have given , to a foundation Member and most loyal worker for Daffodils nationwide , – WILFRED HALL .
Wilfred is suffering from advancing dementia and will not be exhibiting this season but still enjoys coming to the shows , seeing familiar old faces and enjoying the flowers . Thanks to John H for bring him to the show and taking him home where he is being cared for by his sister .His tazettas were show by several exhibitor , – AVALEX , one of his early registration , – a very consistent show flower early , – was Reserve Champion .

Lemon and Barley , – 06 – T 3 , 8W – O . Avalex , – three raised by Wilfred .
Judge was Wayne Hughes , – a keen intermediate breeder and exhibitor and there were some interesting blooms in their class .
TAYFORTH JEWEL was very bright .
John Hollever had an interesting split corona intermediate .
A few bright yellow trumpets CHIEF EXECUTIVE – is a bold trumpet raised by Peter Ramsay .
ARVIDS GUARD , exhibited by Dianna Loader , is a big John Hunter registration .
Quite a few early doubles in the classes and on display – I was in the middle of a good number of cutflower types .
TURBOCHARGER , to be registered , is very well coloured and has a tall , strong stem .
THE STALKER , a sibling to Turbo , is a little lighter in colour , just a little shorter but strong stalk .
ICESCAPE 2W – W , is a big John Hunter registration , very clean white , early .
SMITTEN 2W – P , – Like quite a few pinks , Smitten takes time to colour , – Had a young bloom in the show and a few midweek champions since . Having a good year .
A few warm nights and some good rains in the week since our show – spring is moving quickly – Daffodil Day is the last Friday in August .
