This was the yield today after digging about a foot-wide patch of n. poeticus recurvus found in a remote spot of my farm this Spring. The second such patch found, the first more than twenty years ago. Still not the slightest clue how they got there, but an absolutely perfect form of the flower.
I stopped counting somewhere over a hundred; some are the largest recurvus bulbs I’ve seen, 1 3/4″ or more. Other than the one there, they’d browned off already, in spite of the late bloom time.
