This is another of Harold’s fall blooming hybrids, this one from Glorious x N. elegans. He sent me a bulb in 2008, and the bulb has increased. There are now 5 bulbs, with three of them blooming at the moment. The largest bulb has a flowering stem with 8 or more florets, while the two smaller bulbs have 4 or 5 florets each. This is my favorite because of the very good form. It, too, is fragrant.

Hi Mary Lou………….do you water your fall blooming daffs or do they just get what comes in from the sky? I have some that didn’t bloom last year, so this summer I put them on the south side and started watering about a week ago. I can feel the bulbs are down in the pot, but I wonder how long it should take them to show foliage and bloom?
Hopefully. Barbara
Hi Barbara,
I keep the pots completely dry over the summer, in the garage. I brought them out, and began watering, on September 6, so it took roughly a month for blooms to appear. I water them throughout the winter, and fertilize with a liquid fertilizer every 3-4 weeks. Hope you see blooms this fall!
