Greetings All
This and several others were growing on a Beach in Northern Cyprus, I expect some of you can name it for me.

  1. Thank you, Henry.  This makes more sense than James’s suggestion that it is Hymenocallis, since Hymenocallis is native to Mexico and the southern U.S.

  2. If you search the internet for Peruvian Daffodil, you’ll see lots of stuff and this exact same flower pictured many times. Here’s a good site to review:
    http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1234/
It quotes the botanic family tree as: Family: Amaryllidaceae (am-uh-ril-id-AY-see-ee) (Info) Genus: Hymenocallis (hy-men-oh-KAL-is) (Info) Species: festalis (FES-tuh-liss) (Info)
this is also sold in pots around our area although a bit rare. I’ve known a few people who grew it quite easily. it’s a novelty for some, rather plain but enjoyable.

  3. Henrys quote resembles the original photo much more than the Peruvian Daffodil information that I sent. That’s amazing, for 2 very closely ID’d flowers to be so far apart in the world!..
