I notice David Adams posted some info re a New Zealand trip after the World Convention in Canberra in 2020
I have been out of action for a couple of months with family issues and health problems to deal with hence the delay.
However, planning is progressing and we will have progressively more details available over coming months
The idea we have is for there to be a tour around Tasmania and Victoria before the show weekend on 17, 18, 19 September and a possible stopover in Bowral on Monday 20 September before heading to New Zealand.
The weekend in Canberra is intended to include seminars, dinners, visits to private and public gardens, an opportunity to visit some of Australia’s national institutions as well as daffodil show with, all things going well, flowers from Australia and New Zealand.
I will post further information here as it comes together
cheers
Graeme
Thanks Graeme. We’ll keep I touch. There will certainly be flowers from NZ to help make the Convention really special.
Dave
Hi Graeme I just hope that your authorities will allow us to bring flowers

Hi Graeme
Glad to hear that things are under way for 2020.
I am sorry that you have had some issues to deal with and I hope all
have been resolved.
I hope that we can get NZ flowers over but I won’t hold my breath
knowing how the ‘powers that be’ are not at all helpful!!!!
I do hope all is well.
Regards to you and Sharon

Be assured that we have had no problems getting flowers in to Australia. A phyto is very expensive and I have always taken the view that we go for the occasion and the flowers are secondary. If they get banned then that is disappointing but not the end of the world. Travelling on to Tasmania presents more of a problem when taking flowers.
On one occasion the inspector looked at the top row of flowers and stated ‘If you grow them that well I don’t need to look at them’ and I walked on through.
