Colour in the patch!

This little 6Y-Y makes a lovely show at the beginning of the season.  It is not a exhibition variety but very welcome in the late winter.  It is about 10 days later than usual this year.  9 Inches high (23 cms) it is  Little Gem x N. cyclamineus. Too large for a miniature.

The other photo is an amazing display of Tête-à-Tête at a local hardware store.  The pots will help raise funds for Daffodil Day, the Cancer Society’s annual fundraiser on the 28th August.  The pots were so floriferous,  with some stems having three blooms.  Here in my patch, although Tête-à-Tête grows and flowers well in the open ground, it would very seldom have three blooms on a stem.  Does anyone in New Zealand know where these bulbs come from?  I know they are often in the shops for Mothers’ Day in May.

Regards to all

Denise.
