daffLibrary – WOW and thanks

daffLibrary is wonderful. My profound thanks to Mary Lou Gripshover, Ben Blake, Nancy Tackett, Lynn Slackman, Harold Koopowitz, and everyone else involved! A tremendous, far sighted achievement.

Special thanks to Dr. David Willis for making his excellent new book available for free as a PDF download

Yellow Fever, A Prospect of the History and Culture of Daffodils, 2012, by David Willis

This book is an important new look at all aspects of the genus Narcissus. Dr. Willis has written one of the finest books that exists on the Daffodil. It should be in EVERY grower of daffodils library. Thank you Dr. Willis for the courage and insight to make your hard work available for free. I truly treasure my Downloaded copy!

  1. I must concur with steve. Yellow fever is a work of amazing insight and dedication. I only wish it was available as a hard copy. I so dislike reading from a screen and bringing the laptop to bed is just to much. Hope in time it will be printed.

Many publishers have told me that they do not make money on books about daffodils. Dr. Willis was turned down by a large number of publishers. While I also prefer to read from a hard copy that is only feasible if you print out your own computer copy. Unfortunately the ADS does not have the resources to prepare the text so that it could be printed on single copy demand.

One possibility is to download the book onto a flash drive and take that to an office print shop and ask them to print a single two sided copy and get it bound. Pictures may have to be in black and white to keep costs down.

If you want to read in bed, download it onto a Kindle or e-reader.

    cheers
