Hi all,
An ooops, I forgot to reduce the photo.
So here it is reduced.
I have found the discussion about the definition for poetics daffodils very interesting.
Having one of Max Hamilton’s poeticus seedlings in flower at the very end of the season, I photographed it today.
I think that it illustrates very well the # 2 proposition.
THe attachment is front view, and the following attachment is the side view. The seedling is number 158-03.

Just measuring it on-screen, from outboard of the “2:00” anther to
the end of the mucro tip on the largest petal, it would just satisfy
the proportional rule proposed, that the cup be 1/5 or less of the
petal length. Depending on the point of departure of the corona from
the floral tube, it could have a cup that is slightly too large to
meet the criterion. Could you do the actual measurement and let us know?
It is beautiful.
