  1. Wow – you folk do Steampunk as well as the citizens of Lawrence NZ. I discovered that ‘Steampunk is a literary & fashion genre which takes its roots from the Victorian science fiction works of Jules Verne & H.G. Wells’. (Otago Daily Times Oct. 2nd 2012).

  2. Those of us in costumes (other than the FANGCon creature) were dressed as daffodil names or themes.  Who can guess them?  You may notice one themed group which was based on Jaydee Ager’s choice of costume she had mentioned a while back here on Daffnet. The hilarious part of the weekend’s event was the FANGCon convention being held in the same hallway as our events. FANGCon stands for furry anthropomorphic Nashville gathering convention.  Furries apparently are people who like to dress up as animals. It certainly made for an entertaining weekend! Who would have thought our daffodil interests would teach us about Steampunk and now Furries! Saturday included an excellent symposium Harold Koopowitz organized on The Future of Daffodils with speakers Wilf Hall from New Zealand, Lawrence Trevanion of Australia, and Harold Koopowitz and Bob Spotts of California.
