For Brian D. and other daffnuts who also like birds.

Hi all. Jane and I have just returned from a 4 week trip from Kyneton up to the red fine dust of central Aust. From Alice Springs we went to the east MacDonald ranges to Trephina gorge where we had our lunch of cheese and tomato sandwiches. A willy wagtail, a common bird at home, hopped up onto my knee and joined us for his lunch too. He graciously accepted several crumbs from my hand, inspected all our kit before flying away to tell his friends about the strange foods he’d chanced apon. Cheers all Rob. Murray

  1. Rob,
What a lovely encounter. Your ‘Willy Wagtail’ is very different from our British one, yours may be prettier but ours is a little charmer too. I don”t think ours would enjoy cheese and tomato, they love flies and small larvae.
Good to know ou’re out and about.
    Brian
