Daffodil Types, Historics, Societies and groups

i’m confrused…

I realize i don’t pay attention a whole lot of the time, but…
I thought the American Daffodil Society was founded in 1954.
Someone gave me a Wayside catalog for fall 1937, and i’m reading the intro blurb for daffs, and it says:
“All the varieties offered are recommended by the American Daffodil Society.”
What part of the intro history class did i snooze thru?

  1. I think it’s the Wayside catalog that was snoozing. Maybe they meant the American Horticultural Society, as they published yearbooks in 1935, 1936, 1937 and 1938. You can get them on a CD from Jaydee for $10 (or you can soon).
