Meg Yerger

Even when you know it will be soon, it is always a terrible blow to hear of the death of someone who was important to you.  I know how important Meg Yerger was to the daffodil world, but she was important, on a personal level,to me. We met in the hybridizers robin, in the mid ’80’s. She was quick to send an encouraging word to a gal new to the breeding of daffodils.  She send me personal letters when things were going badly for me and shared her sorrows and comforted me in mine.  She sent silly pictures of herself, like the one in a huge straw hat.  She knew so much about daffodils and poets in particuar, and never failed to share that knowlege with anyone who asked.

Meg was a joy and a pleasure to know, and leaves a huge void in the daffodil world.
