This is a seedling from a cross of a Miniature yellow trumpet hybrid seedling times the late Ben Hager’s really lovely Intermediate ‘Cayenne’. I’m really getting exciting things by crossing small Intermediates with Miniatures. Several dozen more siblings to open over the next week. Some show ‘Cayenne’s’ splendid color. As an added bonus I believe that all of these have been fertile. If you look closely at the large size photo, you may be able to detect a hint of an orange rim.
Those that have two or more flowers this year will be cut and exhibited for the first time at the Amity, Oregon Daffodil Festival and Show held next weekend.
