Miniature 5Y-Y

This late flower is V04-88-9. It uses my pick of the litter from (N. assoanus x N. fernandesii #7) which I’ve found to be highly fertile. I crossed the best of these with N. triandrus ssp. triandrus var. concolor.

Once I realized that the seed parent was fertile, I deliberately remade a number of older Miniature crosses made by others using the newer, better formed, smaller parents. This flower is of the style of ‘April Tears’, ‘Fairy Chimes’ etc. but is smaller in size and scale as well as being a touch more formal than many of this type. Individual flowers are 30mm in diameter with stem height of about 7 to 8 inches.

This cross has given profuse blooming and rapidly increasing plants. The stem shown has six flower. Four open and two more buds.
