Narcissus Martha Cash

One of my favorites among the small tazettas is ‘Martha Cash’ 8W-P, and this seems to be a very good year for it, so I thought I would share a picture taken today. It usually bears two to three florets on the stem and they can be very smooth. The cup is normally a solid clear baby pink. It is bred from ‘Pink China’ x N. dubius, a cross that I remade many times, each with a different form of N. dubius. The cross made in 2003 (seems so long ago now) yielded an enormous number of worthwhile cultivars such as ‘Little Dianne’ and ‘Little Karen’ and there are quite a number more are yet to be named. Most of those I selected are 8W-Ps but there are also some very smooth 8W-Ys as well.

The picture here is from four stems each with two florets, picked this morning.

  1. Hi Harold,

Is it a miniature?  Either way, I’d like to have one.
