I was hoping that someone who took better photographs than me would report on the North Island National Show.
The show this year was held in the Taranaki township of Waitara and congratulations must be accorded to Catherine McKay and her group from the Taranaki Daffodil Club and the New Plymouth Horticultural Society on organising a wonderful event. Nothing was too much trouble and the event ran like clockwork.
One of the features of the weekend was the awarding of National Daffodil Society of New Zealand Certificates of Recognition to both Tracey Hooker and Joy Brogden. Congratulations to you both, the award was richly deserved.
Champion bloom, JAH 46/90E 2YR was exhibited by John and Sue Hollever. This seedling raised by John Hunter from Jamore x (Loch Hope x Cressalla) stood out from the rest of the Premier Blooms, it was lovely. Reserve Champion K63 bred and exhibited by Denise and Neil McQuarrie from Quiet Water x Florence Joy.Best British Bloom and Premier 1YW was Fresh Lime exhibited by Robin Hill.
