Rest in Peace

I received this from Elise Havens this morning.

Dear Phyllis,
I am sending this on my sister’s email. Monday morning Dick passed away. Memorial Service on Dec. 23 at 11:00 am at Community of Hope Lutheran Church in Wilsonville, OR.
Christine and Eileen are taking good care of me.

Love Elise

  1. I am sure most of you had already read the lovely tribute in the newest Daffodil Journal to Elise and Dick Havens. Dick was a quiet, self-effacing man, so few of us really knew him. But his effort and dedication made the continuation of Mitsch Daffodils possible. And for that we are grateful.
Our love and prayers go to Elise, Christine, and Kenny.

  2. Horribly sad, painful news. Our heart goes out to Elise, Kenny, Chris, and their families. You are all in our prayers. Our Daffodil world has become much smaller. Rest in peace my friend.

  3. Both Dick and Elise Havens made the continuation of Mitsch Daffodils possible. And without  Dick’s efforts the daffodil world would have been so much the poorer. When you look at your daffodils this spring remember Dick Havens for he will live on for you as long as his daffodils flourish in your garden. Thank you Dick.  Your life made our joy possible.

  4. Yes, most of us didn’t know Dick very well.  We did know that he was the rock that Elise leaned on when she needed to.  Deepest sympathy to Elise and her famiy.

  5. That is very sad news we got today, the passing away of Richard Havens. We have such good memories of visiting Mitch Daffodils. When we talked about Daffodils and how to grow them better. Richard was not only interested in Daffodils also other agricultural products. He loves to talk about cheeses and was always very happy when brought a nice piece of cheese for him from Holland. We are very happy with their seedlings and we got always very good advices about new ones suitable for growing for the world market. We will miss him very much, what only left are the memories. I feel myself rich to met him so many times. That he may rest in peace with his beloved Lord. Our deepest sympathy to Elise and her family,we wish them all, much strength in this dark time before Christmas but we also hope that Christmas brings a little bit light in your lives.
