  1. Hello again Juan
We used to have a daffodil in our collection called Joyant,
This one looks a lot like it with its odd color somewhere between pink and orange and its distinct rim.

  2. Dear Carlos,

Thank you very much for your help. I think Stradivarius is clearly a match with my first unknown. Southern Gem, along with Tunis (previously suggested) are undoubtedly the best possibilities for the 2 W-WWY. And the RHS description of Joyant (although without photos in Daffseek) describes better my flower than the photos of Precedent (that, I think is a more modern flower than mine, with a cup not so wide).

    Nancy,

You are right. The three cultivars were found between 1996 and 1997, growing in different gardens in farms and towns of southern Chile, and must have been growing here for some years.  If I were forced to guess, I should say the bulbs came from Europe, not later than 1970 (Holland, most likely), but that is only a guess, based in a couple of old Chilean nursery’s catalogs.

    Thanks again

    Juan Andres
