  1. Several of the judges encouraged Larry to change the color code of his willing Mini Gold and Mini Rose to 6Y-P. I hope you can clearly see the pink in the photo!

  2. LARRY FORCE once again stunned attendees with his innovative miniatures and won all siginificant hybridizer and miniatures awards. The picture of the div 6 flower above does not adequately convey the pink and coral jewel tones in the corona or the balanced and graceful proportions of the tiny flower. This flawless, graceful flower must surely represent a color breakthrough. When Larry lifts these tidbits of delight from his seemingly magic treasure chest, stunned silence is followed by gasps. Larry is a world class artist whose chose the daffodil as his creative medium. Thank you Larry for your tireless efforts, for spreading beauty, and for your unselfishness. Annette Parker Kahn

  3. Thanks  Becky  for  posting  these  good  photos  and  show  results  .Wilfred  Hall  was  here  today  ,  collecting  his  bulbs  that  I  had  given  HWT  .He  was  delighted  with  the results  and  another  win  for  his  great  FENCOURT  JEWEL .  It  has  won  the  tazetta  classes  at  shows  in  NZ  ,  Australia  ,  UK  and  USA  but  he  was  sure  it  was  FENCOURTS  first  Gold  Medal  (  Champion  Bloom  )  award  outside  of  NZ  .He  sends  congratulations  to  Annette  Parker  for  exhibiting  a  fine  four –header  .It  is  always  a  thrill  for  a  breeder  when  their  ” children ”  win  overseas  ;  always  good  to  know  that  they  are  performing  for  other  growers  on  distant  shores  .We  all  know  FENCOURT  JEWEL   is  a  leader  in  the  pink  cup  tazetta  class  and  Wilfred  was  a  happy  breeder .

Keep  the  results  coming    –  John .

  4. A curious aspect of the Small Grower Section is that only standard size daffodils are permitted, so it is interesting that the Small Grower ribbon was awarded to a miniature at this show. However, according to ADS rules, the decision of the judges is final. Perhaps we should revise the rules for the Small Grower Section to include miniatures. After all, why should people with small collections be dissuaded from growing miniatures?

  5. Our goof, Kirby, and I was on the panel that did this. Simply forgot to double check. How complicated would it be to change the rules? Small growers in our region are so inspired by Larry’s miniatures and Celia’s species daffodils that they tend to want to emulate these exhibitors.
