The reserve champ, in a close finish, for senior judge
Spud Brogden was
this fine Wayne Hughes — I missed the seedling number but
the parentage is
Reserve Champion, 2 Y – Y Wayne
Hughes
Gold Convention — x — Impeccable,
I has seen excellent seedlings of this cross from several
growers.
This flower was a deep yellow perianth and a deeper, almost
old gold shade
cup, about 3/4 length – looking well balanced.
Gold Convention is a well proven parent for northern growers
and Impeccable is
fast becoming a favourite for Kiwi breeders.
