  1. Thanks Larry.  Ted Snazelle was one of my biggest supporters when I first joined ADS.  He encouraged me to come to Dallas for the judging school, which I did.  Ted coached me through that school.  For a long time he held a Daffodil Show in or near Jackson, MS.  He did so much for ADS in the past. My condolences to his family. Ted was one of the good ones. He will be missed.

  2. This is sad news, indeed! Every year when my ‘Carolina Sunset’ blooms I always think of  Ted. His daffodil group held a bulb sale, as a fund raiser, prior to the Jackson convention. He was such a great guy and obviously a really wonderful teacher. RIP dear friend ❤️

  3. With sadden hearts, Ben and I heard about the loss of Ted Snazelle. Ted introduced the American Daffodil Society to the Internet.

In 1996 Ted, as a professor of Mississippi College, established the first version of the Daffnet mailing list. Shortly after that Ted helped me build the first ADS web site. Both the mailing list and the web site operated at Mississippi College until 2001.

Ben and I knew Ted as a friend and mentor. Our knowledge of Ted’s contributions to the ADS is limited to our interactions with him but we always found him reliable, responsive, helpful, and thoughtful.

  4. It was Ted Snazelle who showed us his slide of the daffodil sap which explained why animals don’t eat them!

  5. Ted was very generous with his daffs and daff knowledge!
I grew several of his bulbs here on St Simons Island. They always came up
    early and huge.
May he rest in peace. He was one of a kind and a fine representative of ADS.

  6. I was very sorry to hear of Ted’s passing. I met him in St Louis in 2016 when I had the privilege of sitting next to him at dinner. We chatted for a long time, in particular about our common connection of links to the East End of London and in the family name of Brooks. I really enjoyed Ted’s company that night and over the years I have often thought of him. A lovely man.
