Spring Storms in Northeast North Carolina

Hi folks,
We just got past our last 4 day wind, and rain storm with cold weather. However this time the temperature stayed above freezing so that wasn’t that bad.

The sun is shining at my place this morning and I went out to pick daffodils for the show coming up this weekend. I had daffodils blown down on the ground all over my daffodil beds from the 40 miles an hour gusts and the sustained 25 to 30 MPH.

I am so proud that over the years that I have loved those daffodils that bloomed above the foliage. Other than the daffodils down, I had a tremendous amount of show flowers that was tall enough not to get beaten up by the foliage. Because of the cold and storms many of them are “rough” but if the judges are not to critical, we may have a successful show this weekend.
