Dave,
The first thing to bloom in my garden, every year, is ‘Perfect Spring’ 6Y-Y. It bloomes a week earlier than ‘Rijnveld’s Early Sensation’. My ‘N. pseudonarcissus’ also blooms a few days earlier. Tete-a-Tete bloomed on the same day as ‘RES’.
I dug several clumps of ‘Van Sion’ near Marion, S.C. and then found some a few years later in Provo, Utah. These two plants look the same but the ones from Utah bloom at least two weeks earlier that the ones from South Carolina. I plan to dig a few of each and plant them right next to each other to see if the bloom time is still this different. I want to get EARLY color in every part of my garden.
I had one bloom of ‘Lemon Silk’ & ‘Warbler’ open today. Things are finally starting to think that it is spring.
