At our Otaki show we had a public vote for their favourite daffodil.
Our class calls for seven stems in a vase,no stipulation that it be one variety.
We had 19 entries trying to win the $20 bottle of wine …
All but one had flowers of the same sub division.
It is not easy to stage sevens in a very tidy fashion if you are rushed with a lot
of other flowers to enter in the other classes.
The voter turnout was exceptional ; we had a busy two days at the show with the
best attendance for many years .
The winner had twice as many votes as the second , which was one ahead of four others …
The winner was the only mixed vase in the field; was easily the tidiest vase and had
some of the better show quality flowers.
The second placed vase was a vase of clean , all white doubles.
Peter, — I think we blew it ;; the rules will be tighter at the next show
