Catlins show

Hi Everybody

The Catlins Horticultural Society held it’s 25 anniversary spring show on Saturday in the small town (village) of Owaka. The Catlins is situated in the south eastern corner of the South Island and is becoming very well known for it sea life which includes seals and our rare yellow eyed penguins. It also bears the brunt of southerly gales which blow up from the Antarctic and just as I arrived from Dunedin on Saturday morning a gale blew up. Luckily for us southerners this one missed us but has dump considerable snow on parts the North Island.

Now to the flowers.

The champion bloom and best Div 2 was Dailmanach exhibited by myself

The best Div 1 was Quiet waters exhibited by Noeline McLaren.

The best Div 3 was Barndance exhibited by Noeline

Cheers
