2W-P Rose Villa

Hello Everyone, in the recent National Daffodil Society Newsletter I inadvertently misnamed John Pearson’s beautiful 2w-p.  I named it PINK VILLA when of course the correct name is ROSE VILLA.  This beautiful flower was the Gold Ribbon winner at Fortuna this year for Bob Spotts.  It was a wonderful flower and really caught my eye so don’t know how I got the name wrong.  My sincere apologies to John Pearson for this.

It is good to see interest in the NDS’s new Historic Classes.  I will leave it to those on the Historics committee to comment further but the reason behind the classes is that (a) they will help to preserve the varieties which have played such an important part in the background of all modern daffodils and (b) the different eras represented in the classes will show the progression of daffodils since they were cultivated and hybridised.  I hope that John Hunter, Reg Cull or other or other historic enthusiasts might have more to say on this subject.

Kind regards, Denise
