South Island National Show

Hi Everyone

The South Island Show was held at Te Anau Foirdland which is in the deep south of the Island. It was surprising that there were any flowers left after a week of weather that affected all parts of the country with high winds and rain hail sleet and snow in the South of the South Island.

The show was of a high standard with some outstanding blooms exhibited.

The first flower is the champion bloom a 3Y-R seedling exhibited by Pleasant Valley daffodils, Colin Crotty and Gordon Coombes. It was Colin’s first champion bloom. Its breeding is Ome Omy x Barndance.

The amateur champion bloom was exhibited by Robin Hill from Hamilton and Peter and Lesley Ramsay bought down this one bloom from Robin. It is lemon Spice which also picked up the div 3Y-Y premier.

That is all for tonight as I am waiting on the official list of premiers from Denise.

Cheers

Trevor
