Hi Daffnetters, A beautiful spring day here today , the weatherman said we hit 20 c ,
the first for this spring .
The tops on the early daffs are staying up , except for the outside rows that were
hammered by the wind ..Still very good soil moisture levels — hope they are still
feeding and working on a big flower for next season .The very bright sunshine for the
last few days are an important part in this process keep the photosynthesis going
on full power for as long as possible .
I sortedout the Div 9 Poets from our late show — had photos of 2 and not the
winners cards to explain the difference .
The nice round poet is Premier N O E from the Movers and Shakers section
Div 9 Prem N O E M & S Hamilton 116 – 03 Margaret Seconi
The more pointed flower is the open Div 9 Prem .
Premier Div 9 Dreaver P – 13 Wilfred Hall .
We are now seeing a lot of different poets at the mid and late season shows ; it
was not many years back when they all flowered well after the last shows .
Many thanks to the efforts of Kiwi poet breeders
Max Hamilton Isabel Dreaver , Denise McQuarrie , Wilf Hall Mavis Verry
John Hunter and a few others who have brought these charming little flowers
forward into the show season .
Cheers John ..
