Bill’s been sending trial bulbs to Mom for years and years – ALL have been standard tazetta height
The trial bulbs he’s sent to me in Atlanta has also come up at normal taz height
Also, see how tall they are at the *end* of the season
His Avalanche of Gold gets leaves well into the 3+ foot range for me in my Zone 7b clay by the end of the season…
Maybe they don’t like being in pots – not enough room for the little monsters to run rampant?
His trial bulbs have occasionally been way larger than a billiard ball (double?), and seriously heavy…
I talked with Linda VB – she did a trial some years ago, and said it took 5-6 yrs for Bill’s seedlings to reach full size out in the garden in north Florida.
For her own self-seeded paperwhites, she says it takes 4-5 yrs for them to reach full height, in the grass.
